What's New This Week
Here's everything new and improved in Golden Analytics this week.
Major Features
Three New Chart Types
You can now create Waterfall, Range Bar (Dumbbell), and Lollipop charts. Find them in the chart type picker, the Command+K palette, or use them in your dashboards.
- Waterfall — Great for showing how values build up or break down step by step (e.g., revenue bridges, budget breakdowns). Includes connector lines, total bars, and custom coloring.
- Range Bar (Dumbbell) — Shows min-max ranges as horizontal bars, ideal for comparing value spreads across categories.
- Lollipop — A cleaner alternative to bar charts, using circles on stems to reduce visual clutter.
Command+K Quick Actions
Press Cmd+K (or Ctrl+K on Windows) to open a powerful command palette. From here you can:
- Switch between Data, Discover, Analyze, and Dashboard views
- Change chart types instantly
- Toggle formatting options (axes, labels, legends, gridlines)
- Run AI actions like Chat with Data or Deep Insights
- Undo and redo changes
- Save or export your work
All without leaving the keyboard.
Import Data Dictionary from URL
You can now paste a URL that contains field definitions, and Golden Analytics will automatically extract descriptions, value mappings, and metadata and apply them to your dataset fields. This is especially useful when your data documentation lives on a wiki or external page.
