Here's everything new and improved in Golden Analytics this week.
Just like Excel, you can now select multiple sheets from a Google Sheets workbook and import them all at once. A sheet picker with checkboxes and a Select All toggle lets you choose which sheets to bring in — each becomes a separate table in the multi-table dataset.
In the Fields panel, you can now drag a field from one type group to another to change its type. Drag a text field into the Measures section to treat it as a number, or move a field into Dates or Geographic — the same action previously required right-clicking and selecting from a menu.
The dashboard canvas Fields pane now has all the same encoding controls as the Analyze view. Color, axis, size, trellis, and tooltip encoding dialogs are all available directly on the dashboard — including the color palette swatch picker and gradient preview for measure color encoding.
The Format pane has been reorganized for clarity. Sections are reordered into logical groups (visual properties first, then labels, then data), the duplicate quick-settings strip has been removed, and axes are now aware of the current chart type so only relevant controls appear. Section headers have better spacing and hover affordances.
Sorting is now shown as a badge inside the visualization itself, making the active sort state immediately visible. The Sort section in the Format pane has been redesigned for consistency across the canvas and dashboard.
Zooming in and out on the dashboard canvas now zooms toward the cursor position (or the viewport center when using keyboard shortcuts), so the content you’re looking at stays in place. Previously zoom always anchored to the top-left corner.
Charts now have an opacity slider in the Format pane, letting you adjust the transparency of chart marks. Single-color picks from the palette now correctly apply without affecting the rest of the palette order.
Box plot charts now work completely on the dashboard canvas — the chart type picker, fields pane, and Format pane controls (orientation, outliers, mean line) are all available. Previously box plots could be created in Analyze but had no controls when placed on a dashboard.
Histogram charts are now fully wired across all surfaces in Golden Analytics. You can add a histogram directly from the dashboard Fields pane, select it from the chart type picker, configure it in the Properties panel, and have the AI suggest it when exploring your data. Previously, histograms could be created in the Analyze view but were missing from dashboard controls and AI-generated visualizations.
